Author's POV
The six friends sat in the same park where just moments ago Siddharth had gone through the heel attack.
After Ruhi said yes, there was an awkwardness between the both of them. None of them knew what to say or what to do next.
That's when Naman curiously called Siddharth to know what happened between him and Ruhi. Not wanting to repeat the whole incident to everyone again and again, Ruhi suggested calling them all and telling everyone at once.
And hence, here they are.
Ruhi and Siddharth shifted awkwardly as they didn't know how to start this.
The others started losing patience as they waited for them to speak.
"Just spit it out already! Why did you call us here?", Rishi asked impatiently.
"Exactly! What are you both even waiting for?", Aditi added.
Siddharth cleared his throat, "Yeah... Umm... We called you to tell you guys that... Ruhi and I are... We are..."
Rishi sighed impatiently, "Oh come on, Siddharth! Just say it! You're hesitating as if you both are dating or something!"
Ruhi and Siddharth looked at each other at Rishi's words, feeling more awkward with every passing second.
Ruhi nervously rubbed the back of her neck, "Yeah... About that..."
Aditi's jaw dropped as she realized that was Rishi said might actually be true based of Siddharth and Ruhi's reaction.
"Don't tell me that you guys are actually dating!", Aditi exclaimed.
Naman added, "But today morning you were saying that she was angry or something, Siddharth! What happened suddenly?"
"Is this some kind of prank?", Radhika asked, stunned.
"I knew something was there between you two! I just knew it!", Rishi said proudly.
Ruhi immediately intervened, "No! There's n-nothing between us! We are just..."
"You are just what Ruhi?", Radhika inquired.
"Fake dating...?", it felt like more of a question than a statement as Ruhi herself couldn't believe it.
A moment of silence passed as everyone registered it, and then-
"What?!"
"Why would you fake date?!"
"I still think this is some kind of prank!"
"I can't believe this!"
"Enough!", Siddharth shouted, "This is not some kind of prank. Let us explain everything first."
Everyone calmed down and Siddharth started telling everyone the whole story.
Another moment of silence passed after Siddharth finished.
"But what was the need to fake date? Wasn't there any other way out of this?", Aditi asked.
"Oh, Aditi. I don't think they'd searched for any other way out because they might not show it to us, but they are definitely doing this because they want to spend time together. If you know what I mean.", Rishi teased.
Radhika smirked, "We definitely know what you mean, Rishi."
Ruhi cringed, "Seriously? Spend time together with this guy? I'd rather spend time with a non-living thing!"
"As if I am dying to spend time with you.", Siddharth scoffed.
Ruhi shrugged, "I don't know. You are the one who declared me as your girlfriend, so maybe you are dying to spend time with me."
"Yeah of course you'd say that!", he rolled his eyes.
"Yeah, I would!", she flipped her hair in style, "I mean, look, I don't blame you. I am special."
"If your definition of special is being self-obsessed and somewhat mentally unstable then yes you are very special in that case!"
"Hawww! You monster! Did you just call me mentally unstable?!", Ruhi gasped in offense.
"Yes, I did! Because no sane person would go around throwing heels at people just because she felt like it!"
"Just because she felt like it? JUST BECAUSE SHE FELT LIKE IT?! Seriously? Now that's what you are saying? I FELT like it? I did what I should have done, and I don't regret any second of it! You deserved that for not telling me beforehand about the mess you have created. And honestly, I enjoyed beating you a lot!"
"See! There! Don't you guys think she is a bit insane too? I mean, who enjoys throwing heels at people?", Siddharth asked the others.
Instead of answering his question, Naman asked, "Umm, are you sure you both are dating?"
"FAKE DATING!", both of them exclaimed together.
Naman waved his hand in dismissal, "Yes that is that. So, if you guys are fake dating, don't you think you guys should call a truce?"
Ruhi scoffed, "Call a truce with this monster? Who calls me insane and crazy-"
"Because that's what you are-" Siddharth interrupts.
"Shut up, monster! See, Naman? That's definitely not possible. Because I might have agreed to fake date him, but that does not change the fact that I hate him!"
Siddharth smirked, "For the first time we are on the same page and I'm glad we are! Our feelings are mutual, and I am certainly not going to call a truce with a self-obsessed witch!"
Rishi shakes his head in disbelief as Siddharth and Ruhi glare at each other, "Just make sure you don't kill each other."
Aditi asked the others, "What do you think will happen next?"
Radhika replied, "Whatever happens, it will be entertaining as hell!"
The next day went smooth as everyone were busy preparing for their exams. Office was not eventful for Ruhi too as she did not come face to face with Avinash Verma and Rohan did not bring that topic up too.
What did happen was Ruhi had started thinking that she might be wrong about Rohan liking her. Because according to her, Rohan's behavior had no changes or there were no signs of jealousy even after knowing about Siddharth.
Maybe he just wanted to be friends. Maybe Ruhi was the one who was overthinking about him. Maybe he was really nice to everyone. Whatever it was, Ruhi was happy that she was does not have to deal with a lover and has got a friend to pass time at office.
Exams start tomorrow.
The last-minute revisions are on full swing as the 6 of them flip pages and go through notes while occasionally calling each other to solve a doubt or just because they couldn't focus.
Right now, it was almost midnight, and the 3 boys were on a video call.
Rishi was stressed as hell at his lack of preparation and Naman was confident that he'd studied enough.
Siddharth, well, the topper he is, was revising his notes for the nth time.
"Siddharth! We know you're fully prepared for the exams. Stop sticking your nose in the book every few seconds!", Rishi complaints.
"I am just going through the notes just to be sure!", Siddharth defends himself, to which, Naman replies,
"You've been going through the notes for the last half an hour while Rishi and I are wasting our time talking."
Siddharth rolled his eyes, "If you guys know that you're wasting your time, then cut the call and study idiots!"
Naman clicks his tongue, "That's not what I meant! Give us some motivation instead of increasing our stress by reminding us how less we have studied compared to you!"
Rishi nods in agreement, "Exactly! I don't even know how I am going to study this much in a single night!"
Siddharth smirks, "You should have thought about that yesterday when you were busy learning guitar the whole day."
Rishi huffs, "You're not helping, Siddharth! And- stop studying!"
"Why do you even want me to stop studying?", Siddharth asked, annoyed.
"Because seeing you study so much makes us feel like we haven't studied at all!", Rishi explained.
"Yeah, that's because it's true. You have not studied!", he shrugged.
Rishi groaned in frustration.
There is a moment of silence, only broken by the shuffling of papers as Siddharth continues referring his notes.
Rishi suddenly asked, "What do you think the girls must be doing?"
Naman answered, "I talked to Adi some time ago, she said that she was going to wrap up her study and sleep. She also said that Radhika had long ago fallen asleep."
"What about Ruhi?", inquired Siddharth.
A smirk immediately formed on Rishi's face, "Why do you want to know about her, huh?"
Siddharth ignored the teasing tone and answered, "Because she is a topper too and I am sure she might still be studying."
Naman decided to join the teasing, "So, Siddharth, how do you feel right now? Do you feel any kind of pressure now that you've someone of your level to compete with?"
Rishi added, "Yeah, what if she beats your score?"
Siddharth scoffed, "I don't waste my time thinking about something that is not going to happen. She won't be able to beat my score, because I'll score full marks and there is nothing above that."
"What if she does score more marks?", Naman asked.
Siddharth raised an eyebrow, "Are you challenging me?"
Naman shrugs, "Take it that way if you want. But what if she scores more than you?"
Siddharth narrowed his eyes, "Then I'll do whatever you say!", he bets, "But what if I score more?"
Rishi immediately jumps in excitedly, "Then Naman has to confess his feelings to Aditi."
Naman frowns, "I am not going to propose to Adi over a bet or something. Yes, I will confess soon but not like this!"
Rishi nods, "That makes sense too, then what will you do if Siddharth wins the bet?"
"Help me take me my revenge from Ruhi. That crazy girl literally threw a heel at me! Even though I am sure overpowering her in exams will bruise her ego, I want to make sure she never does something like that again.", Siddharth said, already plotting his revenge plan.
"Revenge and all, huh? Naman, remind me to bring popcorn and cold drink!", Rishi grinned.
Naman smirked, "Trust me, Rishi, this revenge and all is just for the show. In real life, Siddharth is like a frightened cat in front of Ruhi! Am I right, Siddharth?"
Siddharth scoffed, "I am not scared of her, okay? I just didn't know how to talk to her about that."
Naman rolled his eyes, "Honestly, you guys should stop fighting like small kids, Siddharth. Don't you think you both need to have a level of understanding to make this whole fake dating thing work?"
Siddharth sighed in annoyance, "You guys are making such a big deal about this whole situation. It's not like we are ever going to be in front of Verma together. We just have to pretend in front of that Rohan."
Rishi grins in mischief, "Just think about it, Naman! Everyone knows Siddharth and Ruhi hates each other, and they are going to pretend in front of everyone, because, of course Rohan won't be the only person in class. What might be everyone's reactions?"
"I don't care about anyone's reactions. It's not like I am friends anyone other than you guys. Anyway, you guys aren't studying yourself at least let me study!", Siddharth replies coldly.
Both of them rolls their eyes, "Oh God this topper! Go and bury yourself in that book of yours!", Rishi taunts.
Siddharth, already back to his books, doesn't even look up, "I will!", saying this, he cuts the call.
Naman sighs, "Okay then, we should study too."
Rishi nods, "Yeah, it's not like we have any other option."
On the other hand, Ruhi was going through her notes for the last time before calling it a night. Despite doing a job, she managed to complete her portion on time and was confident enough that she was well prepared.
As she lay down on her bed, she couldn't help but think about what will happen tomorrow. She and Siddharth has to pretend that they are 'in love' in front of everyone.
She thought of what all things she could do to make themselves convincing. She recalled all the things she has read in books and watched in movies. A simple idea struck her mind.
She immediately picked up her phone to text Siddharth.
Ruhi: Wear black tomorrow. Twinning will look convincing.
Siddharth's reply came after a few minutes, which was just a thumbs up emoji.
Ruhi rolled her eyes at his dry reply, "Such an uncle!", she mumbled, keeping her phone down and went to sleep.
Next day.
Ruhi was waiting near the college gate for the others to arrive. She was dressed in a black body fit full sleeve top paired with black baggy jeans. The white shoes she was wearing was a contrast to her all black outfit.
"Ruhi!", came an enthusiastic voice.
"Hey, Rohan.", she greeted Rohan as he neared her. Being with Rohan the whole time during work has made her accustomed to his enthusiasm.
"Prepared for today's paper?", he asked.
"Yes. What about you?"
"Yeah I guess. I am never completely confident.", he replied sheepishly.
"It's alright! You'll do great.", she assures him.
Rohan smiles, "Thanks."
Before Ruhi could say anything else, she felt a hand wrapping around her waist. She looked up just as Siddharth pulled her closer and looked down at her with a smile she had never seen before.
This made her heart flutter for some reason.
"Good morning, sweetheart", he greeted with a sweetness which Ruhi was sure would cause her diabetes.
"Morning.", Ruhi replied with a nod, too shocked at how effortlessly he was doing this act.
Siddharth finally took his eyes off her and looked at Rohan, "Hey Rohan.", he greets him as if they are old friends.
Rohan smiles politely, "Hii."
Naman and Rishi arrive at that moment and as soon as Naman spots Siddharth and Ruhi, he starts coughing, not being able to digest their proximity.
Rishi pats his back to calm him down, too stunned himself, "How has Ruhi not killed him already?"
Naman composes himself, "Same question."
Just as they neared Siddharth and Ruhi, Radhika and Aditi also arrived and they had similar reactions.
Radhika had to look twice to confirm that it was actually them while Aditi had almost toppled over in surprise.
Of course everyone knew, but they did not expect to see such affection between them.
As the group came together, they tried to act normal, as if watching the enemies standing so close without killing each other was an everyday thing.
Rishi tried to act along, "God! Stop with your PDA both of you! Some people are still single here!"
Siddharth rolled his eyes, still not letting her go, "Shut up!"
Ruhi stood there silently, not knowing what to do. She had come prepared. Having read this a thousand times in books, she thought it might be a piece of cake for her. But when Siddharth suddenly came up and held her so close to him, her brain malfunctioned.
Rohan, who was now awkwardly standing there, frowned as he noticed Naman and Aditi standing a little away from each other, "Aren't you guys dating too?", he asked, confused.
Their eyes widened and they said together, "We are just best friends!"
The intensity with which they had said that made Rohan flinch as he raised his hands in surrender, "Oh! I am sorry."
Naman ran a hand through his hair, looking anywhere but at her while Aditi tucked a strand of her behind her ear, not looking up herself.
Rohan shifted from one leg to other, not being a part of their group, he didn't know what to do.
Ruhi noticed this and immediately started talking to him, "Umm, Rohan, have you completed that file Nandini gave you at work?"
Rohan nodded, "Yes I have. Have you completed yours?"
"Almost. But I have a few difficulties, will you help me out later?", she asked.
Rohan smiled, "Sure. I'll help you at the office. But I am sure you know better than me."
Before Ruhi could respond, Siddharth immediately responded, "Of course! Ruhi is the best!"
The group had to suppress their laughter as Ruhi coughed harshly at his statement.
Siddharth patted her back, "You alright?"
Ruhi nodded, still trying to compose herself.
Rohan finally excused himself, "Okay then. I'll get going. Bye Ruhi. Bye guys!"
Everyone bid him goodbye and he finally left.
As soon as he was gone, Ruhi tried to free herself from Siddharth's hold, but he didn't let her.
"Let me go now. He is gone.", she whisper- shouted.
Siddharth leaned down near her ear, "I can't. Everyone thinks we are together now. If we move away right now, it will look weird."
"Since when did you start thinking about everyone?"
"Since everyone is turning around twice to confirm that it is actually us. We can't let Rohan know from someone how we don't act like a couple."
Ruhi groaned in frustration.
Rishi smirked, "Siddharth is so natural at this!"
Radhika nodded, "I know right! They look like a real couple!"
Siddharth rolled his eyes, "I am just a great actor."
Ruhi finally wiggled out of his grip, "Aditi, are you prepared for the exams?", she said, changing the topic, directing it towards Aditi as others are busy teasing them.
Aditi nodded, "Yeah. I hope the exam goes well."
Ruhi suddenly notices Siddharth's outfit and it is not black.
White shirt, beige jeans and white shoes.
Ruhi clenched her jaw, "You! Why did you not where black? We discussed it yesterday!", she scolded.
"Because we didn't discuss it. It was you who ordered me to wear black. I don't take orders from anyone, and certainly not from you.", he replied calmly.
"Ugh! You are impossible!", Ruhi groaned.
"Anyway twinning is of no use if you don't act like we are dating, Ruhi! What was that even? I thought you knew your job!", Siddharth complained.
"I was stunned! I didn't expect you to pull that stunt out of nowhere!"
"You should have known! If we are dating then of course I'd have to do such things to make it look real!"
Rishi wiped fake tears from the corner of his eyes, "Siddharth and Ruhi are back."
Naman, always the peacemaker, intervened, "What happened to dating, guys? People are still watching."
Ruhi took a deep breath to calm herself down and Siddharth did the same.
The others sighed in relief as they made their way to their respective exam halls.
As the others walk ahead, Siddharth called out, "Ruhi?"
She turned around, ready to snap back at whatever he says, but what he actually says makes her eyes soften, "I didn't make you uncomfortable, right? You were... quiet, and you are never quiet."
"You did not.", she assured him, "It was just, unexpected and I didn't know how to react."
Siddharth nodded, relieved that he did not cross any boundaries.
After the exam.
Radhika and Rishi were the first ones to walk out of their exam halls.
"So, how was the paper?", Radhika asked.
"It was good. Better than I expected. Yours?"
"It went well. As expected.", she replied.
As they walk around the campus, waiting for the others, Radhika said, "It really is a treat to watch Siddharth acting all lovey dovey."
"Oh I can't tell you how shocked I was! I have never seen him do something like that."
"Siddharth really surprises us a lot. Let's see what both of them have in store for us next."
Rishi nods and they continue walking around the campus in comfortable silence.
Radhika looks sideways at him casually, that's when her eyes fall on the mole under his ear, the one she had noticed on Diwali night.
She again feels an urge to touch it, but she has to control herself.
Rishi notices her gaze and smirks teasingly, "Stop staring at me, honey! I know I am handsome."
Radhika blinks in realization, looking away, "I.. I was just..."
"Looking at the mole?", he completes her sentence, running his fingers on his mole, "I really like this mole too. I mean, God created me and thought that, 'Kya handsome insaan banaya hai maine! Isko kisi ki nazar na lag jaye, mein khud he isse kaala tikka laga deta hu!'", he grinned proudly.
Radhika chuckled, "You really love yourself, don't you?"
Rishi said cheekily, "Of course! Main apna favorite hu!"
Radhika laughed and Rishi joined him too.
"By the way, when do you think Naman and Aditi will confess?", Radhika asked.
Rishi thought for a second before replying, "Naman really wants to make the proposal special. We were talking about it just yesterday and he said that he can't propose to her just like that. It should be memorable, you know."
Radhika nods, "Of course it should be memorable! But if Naman doesn't propose soon, I guess Aditi will do it. Because she herself can't hide it anymore."
"We will have to bear with Naman's cheesy lines. Because that lover boy is hella cheesy!", Rishi said.
Radhika teased, "Says who?! Have you ever heard yourself? Your flirting is so damn cheesy!"
Rishi grins, "You still love it!"
Radhika rolls her eyes, though in her mind she knew what he said was true. She definitely loved his cheesy flirting.
But he doesn't need to know that.
Just then, they find Aditi walking towards them with a blank face and behind him was Naman following her with a frown.
"Aree! I am sorry na!", Naman said.
Aditi completely ignored him and came and stood near Radhika and Rishi, her arms crossed and a pout formed on her face.
Radhika and Rishi shared a glance, clearly confused as to what happened to these love birds.
"What happened?", Radhika asked.
Instead of replying, Aditi huffs, throwing a glare at Naman.
Naman sighs, "She was waiting for me near my class, and I was..."
"Busy talking to someone else even though he knew I was waiting. You used to do this back in school too, Naman!", Aditi complained.
Naman runs a hand through his hair, "She was just discussing the paper. I swear I came to you as quickly as I could."
"I don't know all that. Don't talk to me right now!", she turns away from him.
Radhika rolls her eyes, "Siddharth and Ruhi are enough for fighting. Now you both also don't start!"
Aditi narrows her eyes at Radhika, silently telling her to shut up and let her be upset.
Radhika sighed in response.
"I am really sorry Adi! I promise I will never make you wait again!", Naman said.
"What if you say the same tomorrow?", she asked.
"Don't you trust me?", he looked at her with puppy eyes.
"I do, but-", Naman interrupted her, "Yes! And I won't break your trust I promise! I am sorry Adi!"
Aditi bit her lip, trying to stay upset. She wasn't really mad, she just wanted to tease him, see what he does when she gets mad at such a small things.
But watching him ask for forgiveness with those puppy eyes, her heart melts in an instance.
But instead of giving in, she clears her throat, "On one condition."
Naman immediately straightens up, "Anything you say!"
"You have to make my favorite dish for me, Mr. Chef!"
Naman's posture eased, "That's it? Tell me, what do you want to eat?"
Aditi raised an eyebrow.
Rishi jumped at the chance to add fuel in the burning fire, "Tch tch tch, Naman, you are her best friend! You should know her favorite dish!"
Aditi smiled at Rishi.
Naman chuckled nervously, "Of course I know it! I'll make it, for sure!"
Aditi narrowed her eyes at him and was about to ask him what her favorite dish was when they heard someone arguing.
They turned around only to find Siddharth and Ruhi fighting, yet again. They sighed in unison.
"Are you sure these guys are fake dating? They look like anything but a couple!", Radhika asked.
"You monster! How can you say that?!", Ruhi asked.
"I had to! You were about to mess everything up!", Siddharth said.
"Because you act like that! You show up out of nowhere and then I am just too surprised to say anything! It takes time to get accustomed to something like this! This doesn't give you the right to say something like that!", she argued.
Rishi asked, "What happened now?!"
"A few of our classmates were asking me how we got into a relationship. He shows up beside me out of nowhere and says that I proposed to him!! Can you imagine?! Why would I ever do that?!", Ruhi explained.
"Why does it even matter?", Radhika asked.
"Wait- you are telling me, that you guys haven't made a story about how the two people who couldn't stand each other are now dating? No one will believe you until you feed them with some good story!", Aditi said.
Rishi nodded in agreement, "She is right. Prepare a story to tell everyone. I'll help you guys come up with some cute moments."
Siddharth and Ruhi agreed to prepare a story to make it look more convincing.
"Great! Let's go to my place. We'll discuss it and I'll make Adi her favorite food.", Naman suggested.
Everyone agreed.
10 minutes later, Naman found himself standing in the kitchen with Siddharth and Rishi on either sides of him. The girls were in the living room, lounging around.
They were going to help him around the kitchen and were waiting for orders. But when none came, Siddharth asked, "What are you waiting for? Tell us what to do!"
Naman rubbed the back of his neck sheepishly, "I.. I am not sure what her favorite dish is."
Rishi stared at him in disbelief, "Don't you have any shame?! You are going to propose to her in a few days and you don't even know her favorite dish?!"
"I.. I am just a little confused. Like, she likes cheese sandwiches, but she also likes chole bhature, but they are supposed to the authentic Delhi ones! Then she also likes pasta, but that's not something she loves. Ugh! This is so confusing!", Naman groaned.
"It's alright. Try to recall if she has ever mentioned something. Anything! In school, college, something?", Siddharth urged.
Naman forces his mind to recall every food related conversation they have ever had.
After a lot of efforts, he finally recalls a memory.
A day.
The day when Naman and Aditi hanged out together for the first time.
Class 7
Aditi and Naman have never talked to each other, but they somehow found themselves in the common friends group.
The group decided to go for a casual outing. Grab a snack, chat and go back home.
After school, Aditi and Naman, along with their friends, Divya, Kartik, Malini, Aarav and Sumit, went to the old famous jalebi wala.
He hadn't talked to her that day. He talked to Kartik and she talked to Divya, both of them not socializing much.
As they received their orders of jalebi and rabdi, he remembered the huge grin on her face and that moan of satisfaction as soon as she took the first bite.
He had heard her talk to Divya enthusiastically about her love for jalebi and rabdi.
"This is my all time favorite! I love jalebi and rabdi so much, Divya! I will get married to someone if he proposes to me with this!", she had joked.
He hadn't thought much about it back then, but he remembered smiling at her words.
How can someone be so easy to please? He had thought.
What he had never thought was that he would ever be here, looking at her, not as just a friend of a friend, but as a boy she calls her best friend, soon as a guy she will call her boyfriend, and one day, if she agrees, as the man she will call her husband.
Naman smiled at his thoughts.
His day dream was broken by Rishi who gave him a smack on his head.
"Ow!", Naman winced.
"Where are you lost? Did you recall anything?"
Naman nodded.
Siddharth asked, "So, what is it?"
"Jalebi and rabdi.", Naman replied.
Siddharth and Rishi stared at him, hoping he might be joking, but when Naman stares back, they realize what they have gotten themselves into.
Rishi swallowed, "See, Aditi wasn't that upset, you know. We can make something else."
Siddharth immediately agreed, "Exactly! She likes sandwiches, right? We can make sandwiches for her! If she asks, you tell her that's what you thought she liked! Sorted!"
Naman sighed, "That's why you guys are single."
Rishi narrowed his eyes at him, "Don't forget that you're single too!"
"That's going to change soon. And you see for yourself first!", Naman argued.
"What do you mean, huh?", Rishi enquired.
"You know exactly what I mean, Rishi. You didn't learn the guitar for your acting career and you know that too!", Naman replied.
Rishi stuttered, "Uhm... I- J-jalebi! We were discussing about the jalebi! Don't change the topic!"
Naman smirked, shaking his head as Rishi tried to dismiss his words.
"If you don't want my help, then I'll go to the living room. I have a story to make!", Siddharth suddenly said.
Rishi teased, "Aww! Can't stay away from your sweetheart, huh?"
Siddharth rolled his eyes, "Sweetheart? She is more of a poison!"
Naman smirked, "Of course! You'd know her better than us!"
"I swear, if you both don't shut up-", Siddharth threatened.
Naman cleared his throat, finally coming back to the main point, "So, what are we gonna do?"
"You are supposed to be the one telling us what to do. We are not the master chefs here, you are.", Siddharth pointed out.
"Yeah, I know. But I am not good at making jalebis!", Naman said, "I tried once and it was all wasted!"
Rishi blinked, "So what now?"
Naman looked at him with a determined expression, "Now, we try. Even if it doesn't turn out to be good, Adi will know we tried."
Rishi wiped his fake tears, "You have learnt so much from me, Naman! I am proud to say I raised a green flag!"
Siddharth frowned, "What?!", while Naman smacked Rishi's head, saying, "Shut up!"
Their bickering subsides as Naman and Siddharth scrolled through their phones for a good recipe video, while Rishi shuffled around Naman's kitchen until he finally found a packet of chips.
He sat on the platform like it was some park bench and swung his leg while munching on the chips like a kid. He ate those chips as if he had not eaten for days, making loud noises of biting and of the chips wrapper which made Siddharth get irritated.
"For God's sake, Rishi! Go and sit with the girls if you are not going to help!", Siddharth scolded.
Rishi pouted, "What? I am hungry!"
Naman intervened, "Let it be! If he goes out, he will tell the girls about what we are making! I want to surprise Aditi! I don't think she'd be able to guess that I would make this for her."
In the living room, the girls were casually chatting about college and exams.
Radhika asked, "By the way, are you guys going to join the event committee? I've heard the college fest is going to take place soon. We also get free attendance in the name of volunteering."
Ruhi sighed, "I wanted to join, but now that I got this job, I don't think I'll be able to manage everything. So, I am out."
Aditi shrugged, "Isme meri expertise nahi hai, so I am also out."
Radhika said, "I am thinking of joining."
Aditi said, "You should join. You'll also get to understand about what takes place back stage during an event."
Ruhi grinned, "Yes. And we will also get all the news about the events beforehand from you."
Radhika nodded thoughtfully.
